My best Musicians in rank order
1.The Beatles
2. Donovan
3.Billy Fury
4.Queen
5.The Who
6. Arctic Monkeys
7. Led Zeppelin
Reasons why I like them
1. The Beatles are the most influential band to have ever existed. They experienced with music like nobody ever had before them. They achieved things that will never be achieved again. Their Revolver album and The White Album (also known as The Beatles) changed music forever and for the better, with songs such as helter skelter changing rock music forever.
2. Donovan is the reason that I picked up a guitar, his songs are mostly based around the same guitar techniques, making such a wide rang of songs pretty simple to play. He influenced The Beatles on their trip to India and taught them guitar techniques to use in their later albums. He was- in my opinion- better than his American alternative Bob Dylan.
3. Billy Fury was unique in his own way, and was sadly taken from us too soon for more people to recognise his songs. He deserved more credit than what he got and didn't deserve to be ripped off by his manager. I first heard of him when I heard he wanted The Beatles as his backing group, thankfully he turned them down. He was also better than his alternative, Elvis Presley.
4. Queen were an intricate band. Freddie Mercury made music like no other, and Brian May is an awe inspiring guitarist. The sounds that Brian managed to get out of that guitar were amazing, considering that he had built the guitar with his father as a child.
5. The Who inspired mods to stand up and speak out against people they disagreed with, the song "My Generation" kicked off the Mods vs Rockers movement. Their Quadrophenia album changed the early seventies into a decade of great music, and was one of the best albums in history, it was made into a film and the songs on the album were one in a million.
6. Arctic Monkeys were a more modern band than the rest but they still inspire multiple generations to pick up a guitar and learn their songs. I prefered their earlier albums and songs more than their new ones, although I like all their music.
7. Led Zeppelin were a band of outstanding riffs and terrific songs. Their album covers were out of the ordinary and some of the best album covers ever made, especially "mothership". The opening riffs of some of their songs are some of the best riffs to learn on guitar because of how good they sound and because their "whole lotta love" riff is one of the most famous riffs (although hardly anybody recognises the song).
